Son Heung-min and Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur set a new English Premier League record on Saturday after combining for Tottenham's final goal in their 4-0 rout of Leeds United.
Son scored his 10th goal of the season assisted by Kane, racking up their 37th combination goal since the duo started playing together for Spurs in the 2015-16 season.
The landmark achievement puts the duo above Chelsea legends Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba, who had held the previous record of 36 goals since February 2012.
Son and Kane already held the record for the most goal combinations in a single season, linking up 14 times last season to break the previous record, which had stood for 26 years.
Duties have been largely shared in the partnership, with Son assisting 19 goals by Kane and Kane 18 goals by Son. In comparison, Lampard and Drogba set each other up on 24 and 12 occasions respectively.
Saturday's goal also allowed Son to reach double-digit goals for the sixth straight season, setting another record for a Korean player in all European leagues and surpassing football legend Cha Bum-kun, who scored 10 or more goals for five seasons straight while playing in the German Bundesliga from 1978 to 1989.
Son is currently ranked No. 1 in goals scored for Tottenham this season, ahead of Kane, who has eight. Despite time away from the field due to injury, Son is still fourth in the EPL goal table. Counting the UEFA Europa Conference League, his tally stands at 11 goals.
