Tottenham Hotspur will travel to Korea, the home country of their star player Son Heung-min, in July for the club's pre-season tour.

The English Premier League team announced on Wednesday that "the men's first team will travel to [Korea] for a pre-season tour this July in preparation for the 2022/23 season."

The trip will mark the resumption of the team's customary overseas pre-season tour, which has been on hold since 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tottenham will play two exhibition matches, but details have not been confirmed yet.

Thanks to Son, Tottenham is one of the most popular and watched foreign clubs in Korea.

Daniel Levy, chairman of Tottenham Hotspur, was quoted as saying, "A trip to Korea, in particular, is long overdue -- we are well aware of the incredible support we have there, with many fans traveling to London to watch our matches in recent years."

Son also expressed his delight, saying, "I am extremely excited to be returning home to [Korea] alongside my Spurs teammates, for most of whom this will be their first visit. I can't wait to see their reaction to the passionate Korean fans and the incredible atmosphere in what we are sure will be packed out stadiums for our matches."
