Nine out of 10 Koreans who earn more than W6 million a month still consider themselves barely average or poor.
A recent survey released by Statistics Korea showed that 78.3 percent of earners of more than W6 million a month believe they barely belong to the middle class and 12.8 percent even to the bottom class.
Income was classified in seven brackets for the survey from less than W1 million to more than W6 million.
The reason the majority in the top bracket still think they are not rich is that soaring apartment prices have made it increasingly difficult to afford a home by saving salaries.
