Newborns Eligible for W2 Million Vouchers in Seoul

The Seoul Metropolitan Government will provide parents of newborns with vouchers worth W2 million in a bid to increase birthrates in the capital (US$1=W1,191).

The city goverment said Wednesday that newborns whose births have been reported since Jan. 1 are eligible for the vouchers. Applications can be submitted online or in person at local community centers.

The vouchers are valid for a year from the birth of the child and can be used at all stores excluding entertainment and leisure establishments.
