Working fathers with children under the age of nine rarely spend much time on childcare on weekdays.
In a survey of 1,000 working fathers by the Health and Welfare Association, 71.2 percent said they took care of their children with their spouses in the past two months, mostly during weekends only.
Some 8.4 percent said they take care of their children on their own and 11.4 percent said their spouses do. Some 62.3 percent of the respondents were double-income couples.
Some 54.6 percent said they use facilities like daycare centers, kindergartens and after-school classes, while 20.4 percent said their wife takes care of them alone.
Respondents only had 1.66 children on average, and 67. 1 percent of them said they will not have any more. The cost was the biggest reason for 51.3 percent.
