Bangtan Boys' 'Butter' Chosen as Record of Year by U.S. Magazine Variety

"Butter" by Bangtan Boys, also known as BTS, has been announced as Record of the Year by U.S. entertainment magazine Variety.

The global hit song was on Variety's Hitmakers list released on Nov. 19 and the annual celebration to honor the winners will be held on Dec. 4.

Variety said, "The song 'Butter' blasted out to the world in May, becoming a record-smashing single for BTS."

Other honorees include Glass Animals for Group of the Year, Lil Nas X for Innovator of the Year and Olivia Rodrigo for Songwriter of the Year.

This is the second time that BTS have received an award at the annual Hitmakers program. They were named as Group of the Year in 2019.
