Song Hye-kyo Tries to Bring New Perspective to Latest Melodrama Series

Actress Song Hye-kyo has shared her thoughts about why she chose another melodrama for her latest TV series.

Song stars in SBS' "Now We Are Breaking Up" as a self-disciplined designer at a fashion company.

"Most of all, the script was really interesting," Song said at a press event on Tuesday. "While many fans have waited for my return in a melodrama, some people may wonder why I chose the genre again. But as I get older, I experience and learn more, and it changes how I view life and the things around me. I think such changes will bring a different perspective and portrayal, even if a role may look similar."

"Now We Are Breaking Up" deals with the way that falling in and out of love helps to form one's identity.

The series co-stars Jang Ki-yong and Choi Hee-seo.

It is set to start airing on Friday.
