Genesis' GV70 Named SUV of the Year by U.S. Magazine

Hyundai's luxury brand Genesis' GV70 was named the SUV of the Year by U.S. auto magazine MotorTrend.

The magazine evaluated 23 different SUVs, or 34 variants in total, based on six key criteria -- safety, efficiency, value, advancement in design, engineering excellence and performance of intended function.

Among nine finalists, which included Ford's Bronco and Mustang Mach-E, Jeep's Grand Cherokee L, Kia's Sorento and Volkswagen's ID4, the GV70 was chosen as the winner.

"It's the precise moment you realize you've found something you didn't know you wanted but now can't live without. In the automotive world, the Genesis GV70 is just such a discovery," the magazine said.

"This well-rounded SUV melds satisfying dynamics with huge value and a level of practicality rare among luxury vehicles. Among a segment already stuffed with intriguing options, the Genesis GV70 is nothing short of a revelation -- and the only choice for the 2022 MotorTrend SUV of the Year honor," it added.
