A video starring football star Son Heung-min promoting tourism to Korea is being released on Monday, according to the Korea Tourism Organization.
Son shot the video traveling between Korea and the U.K. since his appointment as a promotional ambassador for the organization in July.
Son himself did the narration for the video in English to appeal to a global audience.
It is available on the KTO's YouTube channel and Son's social media.
In the U.K., the KTO is running advertisements featuring Son on double-decker buses that connect central London with his club's home ground, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and plans to hold an online event in which Son will introduce tourist spots and give away a signed jersey.
Joo Sang-yong at the KTO said, "We expect to effectively appeal to football fans and potential tourists worldwide, as Son is one of the best players in the English Premier League, which is watched by over 600 million people globally."
"In Europe, we are seeing a revival of tourism, as vaccination has been accelerated. So we are focusing our marketing strategies in Europe first, and will then expand to China and Southeast Asia, where Son is very well known," he added.
