More than two-thirds of Koreans will simply write off another Chuseok holiday to the coronavirus pandemic and stay home instead of reuniting with their families for the traditional gathering, a poll suggests.

Samsung Card polled 900 cardholders and found that 71 percent will stay home over Chuseok and 52 percent will buy ready meals instead of the traditional home-cooked feast.

Some 82 percent of older respondents said they regret having to spend the biggest holiday of the year without seeing their family, but among younger people only 56 percent feel the same.
