The Korea Development Institute on Tuesday warned that the coronavirus pandemic and rising raw materials costs pose a growing threat to Korea's economy.

The state-run think tank in June hailed a "robust economic recovery trend," but since then lockdown has been tightened as infections rose and "economic uncertainties remain high."

Kim Kwang-suk at the Institute for Korean Economy and Industry said, "If even a state-run institute warns of increased economic uncertainties, who knows what trouble we're really in."
