Only one in four salaried workers in Korea's major companies are women.
According to Corporate tracker Korea CXO Institute on Thursday, a mere 23.2 percent or 82,000 out of 355,000 employees in 43 of the top 100 companies are women.
Just six companies employ 50 percent or more women.
The leader is cosmetics company Amore Pacific with 74.8 percent, followed by KEB Hana Bank (60.5 percent), SK Magic (56.4 percent), Industrial Bank of Korea (51.4 percent), Mirae Asset Life Insurance (51.4 percent) and Woori Bank (50 percent).
But few of them ever make it into executive positions.
Samsung Electronics, which has the biggest workforce, employs just 25.9 percent women.
