Korea has reached the semifinals of the women's Olympic volleyball tournament for the first time in nine years.

Korea beat Turkey 3-2 in five sets in a quarterfinal match at Ariake Arena at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo on Wednesday.

All the players exhibited solid teamwork around captain Kim Yeon-koung, who earlier made it clear that it would be her final Olympic appearance.
