Ex-President Park Geun-hye was admitted to St. Mary's Hospital in Seoul again on Tuesday after complaining of shoulder pain.

The Justice Ministry said Park was hospitalized for pain in the same shoulder she earlier had surgery on and will remain in hospital for a while.

Park has been held at a prison in Uiwang, Gyeonggi Province since March 2017. She spent 78 days in the same hospital after surgery in September 2019 to repair a torn rotator that effectively paralyzed her arm.

Park has also been treated for a spinal injury at the same hospital and by an acupuncturist who visited her in jail.

In January, she was quarantined at St. Mary's Hospital after coming into contact with a prison guard who had tested positive for coronavirus but tested negative later.

The same month, the Supreme Court upheld her convictions for corruption, bribery and abuse of office and jailed her for 20 years.
