Parks across the country turn into outdoor bars every evening as the weather gets hotter and bars remain under curfew.
Young people even embrace sidewalks or the stoops of convenience stores like old-fashioned small-town delinquents. But the atmosphere has largely been good-natured and authorities have made no great efforts to intervene.
A mere 14.8 percent of the population or 7.59 million people had received at least one coronavirus vaccine injection as of Sunday, but only 2.28 million of them are fully vaccinated.
Health authorities worry that such breaches of lockdown rules could give rise to another surge in COVID-19 cases although the chances of infection are relatively low outdoors.
But the glacial pace of vaccination is leading to increasingly open frustration and many more people are likely to crowd parks or other outdoor facilities as summer approaches.
