Korean shipbuilders won more than half of all global orders in March.
Korea netted orders of 63 vessels or 2.86 million compensated gross tons in March, up 76 percent from a month earlier and 320 percent on-year, according to U.K.-based industry tracker Clarkson Research Services. The orders accounted for 55 percent of 133 vessels, or 5.2 million CGT.
Korea was followed by China (42 percent) and Germany (one percent).
In the first quarter, Korean shipyards sealed orders for 126 ships, or 52 percent of all global orders.
