Koreans drank more often but consumed less alcohol last year, a survey suggests.
This suggests that drinking small amounts of alcohol alone at home has become a trend in lockdown, replacing social binge drinking.

The Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation polled 2,000 adults aged 19-59 nationwide last September and found that they drank nine times a month on average last year. The frequency of alcohol consumption dropped from 8.9 times per month in 2016 to 8.5 times in 2019, but rebounded last year.
But they drank 6.7 glasses of alcohol each time on average, down from 6.9 in 2019.
The largest proportion or 41.4 percent of respondents drank beer.
