Authorities in Yongin south of Seoul plan to widen a road in front of a lottery store to relieve traffic congestion after it sold 19 winning lottery tickets.

A Yongin city official said Wednesday another lane will be added to the street at a cost of W200 million (US$1=W1,109).

A placard boasting the number of winning lottery tickets sold emblazons a store in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.

A staffer at licensed operator DongHang Lottery said, "It's very rare for one particular store to be the source of 19 winning tickets. The store ranks among the top 0.2 percent out of some 7,000 lottery ticket shops across the country."

The probability of winning the lottery is about one in 8 million.

Traffic jams and even accidents are common in front of the store when customers flock there in hopes of repeating the miracle.
