Eight out of every 10 households are taking various health supplements, a survey reveals.
The survey of some 2002 households conducted last year and released by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs on Monday showed that some 79.9 percent of them said they relied on the daily intake of health supplements and other nutrients to keep healthy last year, up 10.1 percent from 69.8 percent in 2019.

More people have apparently developed a keen interest in strengthening their immune systems amid the coronavirus epidemic.
The number of supplements purchased rose from 3.2 to 3.7 per household over that period. Vitamins and minerals were the most popular supplements, followed by lactobacillus and probiotics, red ginseng extract and Omega-3 fatty acid.
