Actress Lee Young-ae has donated W100 million to pediatric patients and frontline health workers, Seoul's Asan Medical Center said Wednesday (US$1=W1,087).
The actress made the donation shortly after news of the death of a 16-month-old girl amid allegations of horrific abuse by her adoptive parents.
Lee said she hopes her donation helps ailing and needy children such as the toddler, named Jung-in, and frontline medical workers combating the coronavirus epidemic.
Lee has donated W350 million so far to the hospital and its charitable foundation, including W100 million in 2006 to help poor patients with chronic illnesses.
She was also spotted visiting Jung-in's grave east of Seoul with her children on Tuesday.
