Heartthrob Kim Soo-hyun and veteran actor Cha Seung-won will co-star in a new TV series.

They will appear in a remake of the hit BBC series "Criminal Justice," their management agencies said on Tuesday.

The legal drama revolves around two men who get involved in a murder case. Kim plays an ordinary college student whose life is turned upside down after he mistakenly becomes the key suspect in the murder case after a night out.

Cha plays a lawyer who helps Kim's character, and is the only person who believes in his innocence. Far from being a member of the elite, the lawyer fights for justice for the weak.

Kim proved his enduring popularity when "It's Okay to Not Be Okay," his first project after his discharge from mandatory military service, enjoyed success last year.

The new series is scheduled to start shooting in the first half of this year. It has yet to be decided when it will be aired, and on which channel.
