To ease the burden on its workers, Hanjin Express said on Monday it will stop making late-night deliveries from Nov. 1.
The decision came after one of its delivery workers was found dead at his home on Oct. 21 due to overwork.
It will also assign 1,000 personnel to sort packages, sparing delivery workers the task, which they view as unpaid work and has been the cause of recent protests.
The move is seen as potentially setting a precedent for other parcel delivery service providers.
At least 10 delivery workers have reportedly died in cases believed to be related to excessive workloads this year.
