People aged 70 and older are being administered free flu shots starting Monday. The injections are available at public health centers and designated medical clinics.

The group is the first among more than 10 million seniors who will be eligible to receive the free shots. The second round, covering those aged 62 and above, will start Oct. 26.

The government resumed vaccinations for pregnant women, and children aged 12 and under, on Sept. 25, and for children aged 13-18 on Oct. 13.

It halted free flu vaccinations over safety concerns on Sept. 22, after it discovered a portion of 5.78 million doses of the vaccines had been exposed to room temperature during delivery.
