The annual Seoul International Book Fair kicks off on Friday in multiple small locations around the capital and online due to the coronavirus epidemic.
Korea's largest book fair will run for 10 days until Oct. 25 and offer a variety of programs to ensure interaction among publishers, authors and readers even in this time of social distancing.
A total of 198 publishers and 32 bookstores will take part to provide an experience that "traverses online and offline worlds with books as intermediaries."
Over 40 lectures and talks will be available featuring discussions by some 200 authors, scholars and artists on diverse contemporary topics such as climate change, millennials and feminism.
Online programs are accessible for free for those who register at the official website https://sibf.or.kr. Those who wish to attend offline events must make reservations in advance for seats, which are limited to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
