Son Heung-min scored four goals -- a personal record -- to lead Tottenham Hotspur to a 5-2 victory against Southampton on Sunday.
Son's first-half goal against the home side was followed by three in the second. His previous best in a game was three, with hat tricks against League One side Millwall in an FA Cup match in March 2017 and on two occasions for Bayer Leverkusen in Germany's Bundesliga.
Tottenham fell behind 1-0 before Son tied the match in injury time in the first half. He then put the team ahead just 2 minutes into the second half. His third goal came in the 64th minute and the fourth nine minutes later.
Harry Kane, who assisted all four goals by Son, scored the final goal for Spurs in the 82nd minute. "We know each other, we want to have a good relationship on the pitch and even off the pitch," Son said about Kane after the match. "I think we will work really, really hard to have a better relationship, even better than now."
The win followed Spurs' 1-0 loss in their home opener against Everton on Sept. 13.
