Korean footballer Kim Min-jae could be heading to the English Premier League.
Talks on Kim's transfer to Tottenham from Chinese Super League club Beijing Guoan are reportedly making progress.
An insider who is well versed in the transfer market said Wednesday, "Beijing and Tottenham are in the final stage of signing a transfer deal for Kim." They are apparently negotiating to reach an agreement over a transfer fee.
Kim, who made his professional debut with Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC in 2017, quickly rose to prominence as one of the best defenders in Korea. Kim left Jeonbuk and joined the Chinese club in 2019.
Kim was already exempt from his mandatory military service thanks to his participation in Korea's gold-medal finish at the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia, clearing any hurdles to pursuing his career.
Kim is in Beijing while preparing for the upcoming season there, which will kick off on July 25.
