Samsung to Hire 1,000 Highly Educated Staff

Samsung Electronics will hire some 1,000 holders of masters degrees or doctorates by the end of this year.

With a pool of global talent, the company hopes to overcome the adverse climate of the coronavirus epidemic, the China-U.S. trade war, and emergence of Chinese competition.

Samsung already hired over 500 PhDs in the semiconductor and artificial intelligence fields in the first half of this year alone, and will add as many again in the second half.

The firm announced in April last year that it will invest W133 trillion in semiconductor equipment and hire 15,000 staff in the field (US$1=W1,203).
