Horror Film Starring Kim Seo-hyung to Open This Year's Film Fest in Bucheon

Actress Kim Seo-hyung's new film, "Whispering Corridors 6: The Humming," will open this year's annual Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, which starts its eight-day run early next month.

The horror film is the latest installment in the "Whispering Corridors" series, the first of which was released in 1998 and followed by five sequels, although none of them share a continuing plot or characters with each other.

Kim, who is known for her charismatic acting skills, plays a woman who is reminded of shocking memories at her alma mater after being appointed vice principal of the school.

The annual festival, in its 24th year, will screen some 194 films from 42 countries, with 72 of them making their world premieres.

Mindful of the coronavirus epidemic, organizers will minimize red-carpet events for the opening and closing galas and other offline events and make efforts to sanitize seats in theaters and other venues while encouraging visitors to wear face masks and maintain social distancing.
