Genesis Recognized as Having Top Vehicle Safety in U.S.

Hyundai's luxury brand Genesis has been recognized for its vehicle safety by the U.S. Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Hyundai said Thursday that the Genesis G90 full-size luxury sedan earned the highest rating of Top Safety Pick+ in the institute's safety evaluation.

The brand's G70 and G80 received the same rating in February.

To achieve a Top Safety Pick+ rating, a vehicle must receive the highest rating in six test categories -- the moderate overlap front, drive-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraints.

It also has to receive the highest or second-highest rating in front crash prevention and headlight evaluation.
