President Moon Jae-in has called for national unity to overcome the coronavirus outbreak based on the spirit of the March 1st Independence Movement in 1919.
In an address to mark the movement's 101st anniversary on Sunday, Moon said that Koreans need to join forces to win the battle against the virus and revitalize the economy.

The event is held every year to commemorate Korean resistance against the Japanese occupation. But during this year's downscaled event amid the coronavirus outbreak, there were few remarks about past resentment against Japan.
Moon pledged the government will swiftly use reserve funds and draw up a supplementary budget to overcome the outbreak.
