Another two cases of African swine fever virus were detected in the bodies of wild boars found dead near the demilitarized zone.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs said Sunday that the carcasses found in Cheorwon, Gangwon Province have tested positive for the ASF. The virus has been found in five wild boars so far.
The ministry said it is unlikely the boars came from North Korea, but it is possible that they contracted the virus indirectly from the North.
Since the first case last month, the number of confirmed ASF cases rose to 14.
