Korea to Raise Fees for Single-Use Emergency Passports

Single-use passports issued on an emergency basis at airports will cost the same as regular passports starting next year.

According to the Foreign Ministry, the fees will be raised from the current W15,000 to W53,000 (US$1=W1,198).

The ministry said too many people have taken advantage of emergency passports due to the lower cost when they have lost their passports, forgotten to bring them to airports or failed to renew expired ones.
