Koreans' credit card spending in Japan plunged in the final week of last month amid a widespread boycott of Japanese goods.
According to industry data released on Thursday, the spending from July 22 to 28 was down 5.3 percent on-year, while spending for the whole month rose by more than 1 percent to W97.7 billion (US$1=W1,210).
The figure dropped by more than 19 percent for the recent period of July 29 through Aug. 4, suggesting that it will continue to fall with little sign of easing tensions between Korea and Japan.
