As a growing number of people raise pets, travel agencies are quick to cash in on the trend by offering tour packages for those who wish to travel with their dogs.

Hana Tour, Korea's largest tour operator, started to offer a package tour in May that includes return tickets to Jeju Island and a three-day coach tour program for pet owners and their dogs.

The tour provides a stay in pet-friendly accommodation, along with seats exclusively for dogs as well as deodorants and puppy training pads. Travel spots also include a dog-welcoming café and there are some activities like dog walking.

Mode Tour also offers a package tour on a ferry from Wando, South Jeolla Province to Jeju, which is equipped with a playground for dogs.

Such tour programs are not limited to domestic trips. PetAirline, which specializes in relocation of pets, now offers a week-long package tour to Phuket, Thailand, which caters to pet owners with various luxurious amenities exclusively for man's four-legged best friends.

Travelers do not have to worry about any necessary paperwork like quarantine inspection of animals for traveling overseas with pets, as the tour program covers such services as well. The tour program is priced at a whopping W5 million, but is popular among pet owners (US$1=W1,161).
