Korea lost to Norway 2-1 in its third group match of the FIFA Women's World Cup in France on Monday.
Korea failed to advance to the round of 16 after three straight losses left it at the bottom of its group.
It is the first time Korea has lost all three group matches since the 2003 tournament in Brazil. The defeat followed losses to France (4-0) and Nigeria (2-0).
Korea was ahead of Norway in ball possession (61 percent-39 percent), shot attempts (23-8) and pass success rate (81 percent-72 percent), but poor finishing let the side down.
With Yeo Min-ji's goal in the 78th minute, Korea narrowly avoided its first scoreless World Cup.
