Paul Ryan to Deliver Keynote Speech at Seoul Leadership Meet

The Chosun Ilbo hosts the 10th Asian Leadership Conference at Hotel Shilla next month, bringing together a variety of experts from around the world.

Former U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Paul Ryan will open the two-day conference with a keynote speech on May 14.

On May 13, a day before the conference starts, 10 South Korean and U.S. experts on North Korea will hold a closed-door discussion on the latest developments involving the isolated state. Chatham House Rules will apply so that no names are attached to views expressed. Incumbent and former diplomatic and security officials and other experts will take part.

Nobel economics laureate Paul Romer will deliver a lecture on sustainable economic development.

The second day will see the Pitch@Palace Korea 1.0, a start-up competition co-hosted by the U.K.'s Prince Andrew and the Chosun Ilbo. This is the first time the competition is being held here and Prince Andrew said he hopes to help Korean start-ups tap into the global market.
