The defense ministers of South Korea and the U.S. met at the 50th annual Security Consultative Meeting in Washington on Wednesday. They discussed a wide range of security issues, including the planned transfer of wartime operational control.
During the talks, the allies discussed a detailed timeline for establishing a combined command structure.
The two sides also agreed to suspend an annual massive air drill that was originally scheduled for December as a show of force against North Korea.
