The number of female executives working for Korea's top 100 companies has surpassed 200 for the first time this year.
Market researcher Korea CXO Institute said Monday that there are currently 216 women executives and the number has doubled in five years since it exceeded 100 in 2013.
Samsung has the most female executives at 57, accounting for 5.5 percent of all its executives.
However, the proportion of female executives stands at just 3.2 percent, up one percentage point from 2016. It reflects that the glass ceiling at the major companies is still widespread.
