Chey Min-jung, the daughter of SK Group chairman Chey Tae-won, recently took a job with a Chinese hedge fund.

Industry sources on Sunday said Chey was hired by Hony Capital last month and works in its global mergers and acquisitions team.

Hony Capital is the investment arm of Legend Holdings, which owns Lenovo, China's No. 1 computer manufacturer, and invests in anything from healthcare to energy and manufacturing.

Chey (27) made headlines in the last few years with her decision to serve in the Navy, leaving with the rank of first lieutenant in November last year and moving back to China, where she had gone to school.

She has a degree in business administration from Peking University.

Second and third-generation conglomerate heirs usually work for their parents' businesses after graduating, but Chey's career path has been very different.
