President Moon Jae-in's approval rating dipped to an all-time low of 60 percent this week, according to a weekly poll by Gallup Korea out Friday.

That was down two percentage points from a week earlier but still way ahead of his predecessor's after the same period in office.

The biggest trouble, with 38 percent disapproval, was Moon's apparent inability to solve economic issues, which failed him to carry out his pledge to revive the Korean economy. Only nine percent approved of Moon's economic policies.

Eleven percent disapproved of his friendly approach to North Korea and six percent of his support for the minimum wage hike. Only 12 percent approved of his resumption of dialogue with Pyongyang, 11 percent of his diplomatic performance, and nine percent of his North Korea and national security policy.

The ruling Minjoo Party's approval rating plunged seven percentage points to 41 percent from last week, also the lowest since it came to power last year.

But other parties fared no better, and in second place was the minor leftwing Justice Party with 15 percent, up four percentage points. It was the party's highest approval rating since its founding in October 2012, perhaps fueled by sympathy over the suicide of its floor leader last week.
