Hyundai's premium brand Genesis has rolled out the diesel model of its G80 luxury sedan, the first of its kind in Korea, the automaker said on Monday.
The G80 diesel sedan has a superb fuel efficiency rate of 13.8 km per liter. It has a system for reducing nitrogen oxide emissions, meeting the latest Euro 6 standards.
The sedan offers a quiet ride thanks to sound arresters and vibration-reducing technology in the cabin. It is priced at W51.7-57 million (US$1=W1,070).
Meanwhile, the G70 sports sedan was selected as "The Car of This Year" by the Korea Automobile Journalists Association. The G70 gained the highest marks for its design, driving performance, and cost efficiency among six shortlisted vehicles.
The other five were the new BMW 5 Series, Lexus LS500h, Volvo XC60, Mercedes Benz's new S-Class, and Kia's Stinger.
"The Imported Car of This Year" was the new BMW 5 Series.
