Chey Min-jung, the daughter of SK Group chairman Chey Tae-won, will be dismissed from naval service this Thursday.
She is an officer in the 2nd Fleet responsible for defending the Northern Limit Line, the de facto maritime border, in the West Sea.
What she is going to do after naval service is not known, but it is unlikely she will return to a position in the family conglomerate.
Chey Min-jung co-founded an online shopping mall selling goods to China but sold her shares when she joined the Navy in 2014.
She was commissioned as an ensign and served six months in anti-piracy operations off the coast of Somalia in 2015.
