Lee Seung-gi to Star in TV Version of Chinese Classic After Military Stint

Actor Lee Seung-gi will return to the small screen with a new TV series on cable channel tvN after completing his mandatory military service. Lee was discharged from the military last week.

The upcoming series, based on the classic Chinese novel "Journey to the West," is about a troublesome demon who ventures into the human world.

"We had Lee in mind for the lead role from the beginning. We have high expectations as he chose the series as his first project after his release from the military. We are determined to produce the best possible drama," the production company said.

The new series will start to air in late December.
