Michelin Guide Seoul on Wednesday published a list of 48 "Bib Gourmand" restaurants in Seoul, ahead of the release of the second full Seoul edition next week.

The Bib Gourmand category consist of restaurants where customers can enjoy "exceptionally good food at moderate prices" -- under W35,000 in the case of Korea (US$1=W1,115).
Their number has jumped from last year's 36.
Restaurants serving gukbap, or hot meat soup with rice, fared particularly well with three new entrants. They are stalwarts Hadongkwan and Mapook, which first opened in 1939 and 1949, and Okdongsik, the "pioneer of a new genre of pork soup."
Daesungjip and Imun Seollnongtang beef soup restaurants were already on last year's list.
Among other Asian restaurants were Inaniwa Yosuke, the Seoul outpost of Sato Yosuke in Tokyo, Hanoi-style pho restaurant Emoi, and Taiwanese noodle bar Wooyukmien.
