Actress Song Hye-kyo has funded a guidebook on Korean historical heritages in Kyoto, Japan. The guidebook was published in Korean and Japanese to commemorate Korea's Liberation Day on Tuesday.

Seo Kyoung-duk, a public relations expert and professor at Sungshin Women's University, took charge of the publication. Song and Seo have worked on similar projects to promote Korean history by providing guidebooks to libraries and museums around the world.

Some 10,000 copies of the latest guidebook were distributed to guesthouses in Kyoto and Osaka popular among young Korean visitors.

"I hope this booklet will help visitors to Kyoto to pay more attention to Korean historical sites there," Song said.
