BMW launched its new 5 Series sedan here on Tuesday. First released in 1972, the flagship model has sold over 7.9 million units around the world.
With the latest release, BMW hopes to reclaim the top spot in the import car market, beating out Mercedes-Benz.
The completely-revamped 5 Series is larger but lighter than its predecessor. It comes with various high-tech and safety features including semi-autonomous technology and driver assist systems.

"We hope to sell over 20,000 units of the new 5 Series this year," BMW Korea CEO Kim Hyo-joon said. "We have already received more than 4,000 pre-orders since last month."
It is available in three different versions and costs between W66.3 million and W87.9 million.
