BMW on Wednesday began receiving pre-orders for its new luxury sedan 5 Series sedan, just ahead of the release next month.
The sedan is expected to garner interest as it is the first completely face-lifted version in seven years. BMW sold over 7.6 million units worldwide since the sedan was first released in 1972.
The newly face-lifted version is bigger than the previous one but lighter. It comes with advanced safety features, including functions to keep the car in its lane and detect hazards to prevent collisions.
With the release, BMW hopes to take back its spot at the top of the imported car market here, which it relinquished to Mercedes-Benz last year after a seven-year reign.
