Park to Meet Putin Next Month

President Park Geun-hye will visit Vladivostok on Sept. 2-3 for the second Eastern Economic Forum and meet with her Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

Park is expected to try and calm Russian jitters about the deployment of U.S. Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense batteries in southern Korea.

The EEF is an annual regional forum launched in 2015 to lure investment to Russia's far eastern region. Park is invited as a guest of honor and is expected to give a keynote speech at a full session on Sept. 3.

It will be her fourth summit with Putin.
