Yoo Ah-in Voted Most Impressive Actor of the Year

      Yoo Ah-in was voted as the most impressive actor of the year, according to a recent poll by Gallup Korea.

      Gallup surveyed 1,700 men and women across the country for three weeks from Oct. 29 to Nov. 21, asking respondents to choose their two favorite movies stars.

      Yoo received 26.9 percent of the votes to top the list. He made a lasting impression in the first antagonist role of his career in "Veteran" released in August, and he starred in another box office hit "The Throne," released in September.

      Song Kang-ho, who starred along with Yu in "The Throne," received 20.3 percent of the votes to come in second.

      Hwang Jung-min came in third with 16.1 percent for his performances in "Ode to My Father" and "Veteran," which were the second and third biggest box office hits in the history of Korean cinema.

      Jeon Ji-hyun was the only female actor in the top five with 14.2 percent of the votes. She starred in "Assassination."

      Ha Jung-woo, who also appeared in "Assassination," came in fifth with 11.8 percent.
