Former table tennis player Ryu Seung-min was included among the 24 final candidates who will vie for seats on the International Olympic Committee's Athletes' Commission.
Athletes competing in the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil will vote to decide the commission's members in August next year.
The 15 members of the Athletes' Commission have the same rights as IOC members, including the right to vote in host city elections. Each member is elected to an eight-year term.
Only four of the 24 candidates will be elected. Other notable candidates include Russian pole vault superstar Yelena Isinbayeva and Japanese hammer thrower Koji Murofushi.
